High Domino
High Domino, OSARUS' first winner, at Bordeaux on the 11th April 09, was sold 10,000€, by the Haras de Plasence to José Manuel Garcia Sahagun at the september yearlings sale at la Teste de Buch.
Created in June 2008 the OSARUS sale company has joined forces with the FRBC in 2009 for the international promotion of their sales. This new agency’s objective is to develop a complementary offer from the market leader ARQANA’s, on both the flat and jump segments, with focus on the yearlings and 2 and 3 yo stores.
Directed by Guy Blasco, a former trainer and jockey who is now in charge of selecting horses for the two annual sales, OSARUS is also constituted of Frederic Lingua and Nadja Govaert , respectively in charge of the pedigrees and general administration.
A first sale in September 2008, on the bucolic racecourse of La Teste de Buch (near Bordeaux, in the South West of France) concluded positively on a € 10,037 average and a € 17,600 median, for a total aggregate of € 464,700. The 2009 stores sales on the 17th January in Pau were tougher, due to the general economic downturn, but professionals present recognised the quality of the organisation and the reasoned selection of horses, with relatives of Kauto Star, Discover d’Auteuil, Quatre Heures and Silver Birch, to name a few. Tokyo Javilex (Sleeping Car), half-brother to the 2009 Grand National hero MON MOME (Passing Sale) topped the sale at € 22,000. This 2yo, AQPS, was bought by Welshman Mike Deren.

The global turnover reaches € 178,000 and the € 7,045 average price is encouraging. Many vendors showed their confidence and all the present actors unanimously underlined the good organisation of the sale.
International buyers should jot down OSARUS’ next rendez vous, on Friday September 11th 2009, for a new edition of quality yet reasonably priced yearlings. The FRBC will be present at the South West venue for the sale and will reimburse flight costs for foreign buyers according to our usual standards.
