Training Centres to Suit Everyone
French training costs are greatly cheaper than in other European racing countries (between €17,000 and €25,000 annually), partly because French owners receive direct subsidies from pool betting income such as transport subsidies to the races (€6.2 million of travelling allowances per year). One cannot deny that French training is good value for money, considering the quality of the training facilities and above all the renowned skills of French trainers and riders who train several Gr1 winners all around the world.
An idea of the average daily training fees:
Chantilly, Maisons-Laffitte & Deauville: €60 / €74 per day (less than 50 / more than 50 horses in training)
Provincial training centres: €40 per day
French training centres are located nearby racecourses which are only dedicated to racing in most cases, therefore preserving the ground for racing days.
